Built in 1900, these two historic cottages are located in a wooded neighborhood on the quiet north end of Tybee Island. You'll be a half-mile walk from beautiful North Beach, Fort Screven, and the Tybee Island Light Station and Museum, two miles north of the shops and eateries on Tybrisa Street, and 17 miles east of downtown Savannah.

An ideal retreat for a family with in-laws or grown children, this property includes two separate homes that can be rented together (through this listing) or separately. The main house, Tybee Island Sunrise, offers three bedrooms, one full bathroom, and space for up to six guests; the back cottage, Tybee Island Sunset, has one bedroom, one full bathroom, and space for as many as two people (please contact Vacasa for details).

The interior of the main house is the perfect blend of the old and new, with vintage hardwood details set against a palette of bright whites. Leave your beach bag on the screened porch, curl up on the sofa with a book or a board game, and enjoy the cozy atmosphere provided by the (purely decorative) fireplace.

Bask in the comfort of the AC and move into the kitchen to fix a few cold drinks and appetizers before dinner. This quaint space features an antique sink and modern appliances that include a dishwasher, a microwave, and an oven/stove. Sit down to share stories of the day's adventures at the dining table for four, or find something fun to watch on the 60-inch flatscreen cable TV and DVD player.

But you'll likely spend most of your vacation enjoying the fantastic outdoor spaces, which include screened porches on the front and back of the main house, a private deck at the back cottage, and an enclosed yard that is shared by the two homes. Light the charcoal grill in the backyard for a summer barbecue, set the picnic table for an al fresco dinner, and spend your evenings watching the lightning bugs twinkle from the sofa or an Adirondack chair on the porch.

Take morning walks to the wide, sandy beach, and come home to find a refreshing outdoor shower in the yard and a stackable washer/dryer for your bathing suits and towels. Free WiFi is also provided in both cottages to keep you comfortable and connected.

At night, these two Tybee Island cottages will accommodate eight guests their four bedrooms and two full bathrooms. In the main house, you'll find two sunlit queen bedrooms and a third bedroom with a twin trundle bed (please note that you must pass through one of the queen bedrooms to reach the third bedroom). The full bathroom in the main house features a tub/shower combination and innovative wall decor made from colorful broken tiles and glass.

Across the backyard is the smaller cottage, where you'll find an open floor plan, an air conditioning unit, a small sofa, and a flatscreen TV. Decorated in soothing pastels, the cottage offers one queen-size bed in an alcove nook, a full bathroom with a shower, and access to its very own deck beneath the trees. A kitchenette with a mini-fridge, a stove, an oven, a coffee maker, and a toaster (but no dishwasher or microwave) is also provided, as is a four-person dining table.

Whether you're an annual vacationer on Tybee Island or exploring the beauties of Coastal Georgia for the first time, you'll be in awe of the simple pleasures of these quiet cottages. From this peaceful, tree-lined property, you'll be a short walk from the wide public beach, the warm Atlantic waves, and local historical monuments such as the Tybee Island Light Station and Fort Screven.

Head two miles south to find a bit more action at the Tybee Beach Pier and Pavilion, or seek some solitude in the Tybee National Wildlife Refuge five miles west. You'll also be a short drive from the center of historic Savannah, where you can stroll the shaded boulevards and graceful city squares.

Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. - If early check-in is available for your reservation, you will be notified by 9 a.m. on the morning of your arrival by email.
